About

The Nottingham Breast Pathology Masterclasses are curated and led by Professor Emad Rakha of University of Nottingham.

With a clear aim of improving the provision of routine breast pathology, the masterclasses lean towards the practical diagnostic histopathology of breast disease with a special emphasis on areas which pose diagnostic difficulties.

Our masterclasses are CPD-approved by the Royal College of Pathologists and are ideal for practising pathologists, pathology fellows and trainees.

The Nottingham Breast Pathology Masterclasses take place each year. Masterclass Online is a virtual event which draws an international audience. Masterclass Live takes place in the UK and overseas. Previous masterclasses have taken place in Italy, Egypt, USA and Chile.

How is the masterclass programme developed?

The topics for each masterclass are chosen based on analysis of data from the Nottingham national referral centre and EQA performance, as well as being informed through personal communication with reporting pathologists in the UK.

The programme includes talks on specific topics delivered by eminent breast pathologists. A large collection of common, interesting and challenging cases are discussed, as well as more unusual breast lesions. Slide seminar sessions enable delegates and experts to discuss cases and approaches to diagnostic microscopy.

Who should attend?

The masterclass is ideal for practising pathologists, pathology fellows and trainees.
